It may seem counterintuitive, but oftentimes the thing that needs doing should not be done first. If the optimal path to deliver the thing is not yet realized, then optimizing the path is the thing that streamlines the next batch of things. The original thing will take longer to deliver as you build the optimal path, however, the next several things, with equivalent scope as the original thing, will take a fraction of the time to do. Rinse. Repeat.
